Was it a Glance or a Stare?

Welcome everyone!

Sorry about the shortage of blog posts lately, if anyone else would like to contribute when i am unable to post, please let me know.

I hope everyone is having a good start to their week! This past Sunday, Pastor Scott spoke to us about a difficult and often unwanted sermon, adultery.

I personally really liked the story Pastor Scott told about the two monks and the older monk carrying a woman across the river.

As they navigated through the forest, the younger monk, still troubled by what he’d seen, asked, “How could you do that? We aren’t even supposed to make eye contact with women, let alone pick them up and carry them!”

Without a thought, the elder monk turned to the younger monk and said, “Oh, are you still carrying her?  I put her down when I reached the other side of the stream”.

Please watch the sermon, because Pastor Scott can tell you about it better than I can. You can find it here.

Looking Ahead:

  • Church Cleanup on May 5th 9:00am – 11:00am
  • Community Picnic (Anniversary) on May 6th at 1:00pm
  • Fascar (Olympians) on May 23rd
  • Youth Camp on June 10th -16th
  • What’s At Steak For Men on June 16th starting at 7:00pm
  • VBS on June 24th – 28th.

The Chelsea(s) have been called on a mission trip to Hati! You can support them at rockbridge.cc

I believe they both need around ~$500 more to reach their goals!

I hope you have a good rest of your week!

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
